A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored before, I am currently tutoring kids at my high school everyday in the subject in which they need help in. My goal in tutoring is to not only to have the child succeed in the course but to understand the concept of the course. My style of teaching is different for each child, because everyone does not learn the same way. Some people are visual learners and with them I focus on teaching them with pictures. Others are audible learners in which with these I focus on teaching with songs. My main reason for tutoring is to make learning fun!

As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the years I have become a diligent student of the college essay, journalism and non-fiction writing. As a literature major, I was trained how to analyze stories and ideas through discussion and then how to put ideas into written form. As a creative writing minor I was trained how to edit sentences taking out any unnecessary phrases and words. In addition, as a senior, I did an internship at the UNCW writing center where I helped college students with editing their papers. My passion for clear thinking and concise writing has only grown since college.
