Highly motivated, educated, and interested teacher will help

I have been teaching for over 17 years. Being very versatile, I have taught English, Ancient History, Medieval History, Computers, Art, and preschool. I started out teaching preschool and loved it. Then I went to a private Christian school (teaching completely for volunteer pay). From there, I decided that I love to help people learn. I went back to school. Students still will recognize me and I know that I made a difference in their life. It is a great reward to know that at that point in their life, I was supposed to be there.
I believe in individual learning styles and matching the teaching technique to the learning style. We all have strengths and weaknesses. It is important to learn how to capitalize on the strengths and build up the weakness.

In my experience, often times a student’s ability to learn is tied in with their trust of and rapport with the person teaching them. I feel it is important to allow the student to go at his or her “own pace” and not create a frustrating environment where they may feel too pressured. Although the parents may feel frustrated at this point, it is helpful to get their support and encouragement during the tutoring process. In college, I was taught to organize topics in Math, Science and English, using outlines. This ensured that I studied all of the material presented in class. During my career, I use the same method to grasp difficult concepts. As a technical advisor, I shared my knowledge with clients, answering questions and solving problems. A Little Bit About Me...

Since finishing my degree and teaching credential progam I have been teaching full time for the last 12 years. I was a tenured teacher in Atascadero teaching all subjects 3-8 from 1998-2001. I am currently teaching in Paso Robles and have been since 2001. I have taught at Flamson Middle School and now teach at Liberty Continuation High School. I primarily teach English and computers but have a Multiple Subject Credential and can easily teach Prealgebra.
