I was a professor at Ithaca College for 34 years in the music department. In that capacity I taught private performance lesson, coached chamber ensembles, conducted various ensembles. supervised and coached student teachers, performed in a faculty artist-in-residence quintet, performed solo recitals, assisted students in writing essays, resumes, and applications for positions in the teaching field or graduate studies. I also had many experiences helping students through difficult academic and personal issues. As a private teacher meeting individually with a student for an hour each week, I became the main academic and personal adviser for them. Children are a joy to work with and any opportunity I have to impact a child's life through the world of education is a privilege. I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I have tutored, un-officially, all during my college years, forming study groups to better help my peers, as well as having volunteer positions tutoring in math and english.
