I taught film acting for 5 years in a private studio in Southern California. It consisted of training actors for film work which included teaching sight reading, interpretation of roles, how to be most effective in presentation, audition and on camera acting. Aside from working front desk at the Quality Inn/King's Ransom Inn in Sedona (5 years), with Developmentally Disabled (5+ years), Realtor (2 years), and currently as a Massage Therapist (LMT, NCBTMB), I also paint (in oils), and write screenplays (BA from UCLA specializing in screenwriting); and have taught film acting for 5 years in California.

I love working with children. I believe that all child can learn. Some may need different way or even different materials to find academic success. I think of myself as a facilitator in the child"s learning. This is a learner-centered teaching style that is very compatible with teaching children of all ages. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BA in Elementary Education and BA in Special Education-MR, LD, ED, which has enabled me to gain an understanding of children with special needs. In addition, I have learned extensive reading skills due to the extended course work I have taken. During the past 8 years I have tutored students in reading skills and comprehension strategies.

I have been teaching since 2005, and doing one-on-one tutoring for just as long. I graduated with a BA in Anthropology, and an MA in Philosophy and Religion. Most of my teaching has been with children ages 10-14, though I have experience with everyone from Kindergarten to College. During my Masters, I wrote my thesis on the Philosophy of Science, and studied Ancient Archaeology in depth during my undergraduate years. I write fiction in my spare time, and have extensive experience with research and term papers. I feel comfortable and competent to teach most basic subjects and levels, though my knowledge of math tapers off after 8th grade. Through my years of teaching I have worked with a variety of learners with different needs. I have worked with children with Autism, ADHD, gifted children, and children with strong emotional needs. I have had to approach each individual differently

As a newly graduate from Northern Arizona University, I earned a BS in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology also 3 minors including: Mathematics, Spanish, and Chemistry. Over the past four years I have gained the understanding in various studies. Also I have written many research papers and laboratory reports in the sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Forestry. I have tutored High School students in math for AIMS and a high school student in Biology. I enjoy working with children, young adults, and adults. Teaching others in any way is beneficial for them and in the long run for me. I am a friendly and patient person that cares about the education of others and myself. Learning can be difficult at times and a tutor or teacher might be needed. Everyone can learn anything they put their mind to, all that is needed is the right way of doing it.
