Eight years ago my nephew became part of the Arizona juvenile system. Having dealt with all that entails, I made the decision to make a difference in childrens lives. It is my belief that children need positive role models in their life beyond the mother and father. I was lucky to have such role models in my life and would like the opportunity to be one myself. My approach is to assess the needs of the individual. What are the learning goals? To pass a class, excel at certain content, or improve grades? This is important to understand so that we are both moving toward an identical objective and can travel together to that end. I am able to design a learning strategy for all content but particularly am knowledgeable in all social sciences and comprehension areas.

I enjoy working with children of all ages. I feel my career in social work has allowed me to become more centered on compassion as a means of education, and engaging the child in the learning process while being compassionate.
