After a few minutes, I ask them what they think is the best way to approach the problem. My approach is to determine the student's weaknesses, and then formulate analogies to explain the difficult concepts. We led large volunteer groups sometime of more than 100 people, in local park and forest restoration event, and also led youth groups on 10 day restoration and hiking trips in the national forest. After this I worked for a program that places tutors in schools that are in need, where i tutored K-5 students in reading, led a ESL class of about 10 students, and worked as a teachers assistant in the class room.
