I always remember having a passion for education, for example my favorite game as a child was school where I got to be the teacher. Thus, I thought I had found my niche once I became a certified schoolteacher and secured my first teaching assignment. I was enamored with my students and the learning process. I like to teach using examples, either on a board to show a person step by step first. Then try to give the student examples to try to solve themselves. If this does not work I continue to breakdown a problem until we can clearly identify where the student is having trouble.

My approach to tutoring is to try to be as hands-off as possible. By this I mean that I will not "fix" papers, nor will I write directly on a student's paper if it can be helped. I want to help the student in their problem areas by showing them examples of an area (thesis statement, grammar, citations)that needs improvement and then working with them so that they will know how to address the problem in the future.
