I am a driven individual who has obtained a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare in addition to a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. While attending graduate school I worked as a substitute teacher which allowed me to gain experience working with children of various ages and levels. I enjoy working with children and families and being able to positively impact and enrich their lives. For the past 7 years I have taught psycho-educational groups, in my most recent place of employment I worked hands on with young adults helping them develop independent living skills. I am fluent in Spanish as I grew up speaking the language in addition to some formal education to improve on grammar and spelling. As a soon to be graduate of the Counseling program, I hold education to the highest level. I have also earned a bachelors degree in psychology, which has given me an important background in my study of counseling. I have had a lot of general education classes which give me a broad area of study. I have never been a teacher, but I do have a younger sibling. I would like to say that although I have never tutored directly, I do have experience in helping others in many of their life areas including school. In becoming a counselor, I have had a passion for helping others for a long time. It makes me smile and gives me much joy to see someone else achieve thier goals. I have been out of college, working in the IT industry for about 8 years now. While in college, I tutored fellow students in the school's lab in the subjects of English and Mathematics.
