I am Stephen O Ojo, a Zoology graduate with 1st class hons from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. I graduated with a CGPA of 4.52/5.00. I had been a tutor in various respect for many years with so many of my stdents working in various spheres of life. I started as a Science teacher in JT Tutorial centre in Lagos, Nigeria in the year 1999 and worked for the centre till 2005 when I graduated from the college. I have working with people of all ages since my teen years to help them excel in areas they once struggled. I currently do some subbing in local districts and help out area students in various content areas. I taught school for 12 years at the middle level, mostly in Math. I approach teaching and tutoring as an exercise in problem solving. It requires assessment of the student's background, previously mastered skills, learning style, and engagement with the content. I believe that anyone can be taught anything; the key is developing an engaged, encouraged student with the fundamental knowledge to grasp the concepts at hand. I like to determine my teaching style by first evaluating a child's current progress and learning style. Learning is a very individualized process, therefore, teaching must also be individual. I am a relaxed person, and I like to find a way to relate material to a child in a way that he/she will not only understand, but retain. Flash cards are great for some children, and other children will learn better with a pneumonic device, while still other learners will make up a song to remember the material.
