A Little Bit About Me...

I have learned several teaching techniques, but the one that I prefer is the military training style. I tell them what I am going to teach, then I teach them, and then I tell them what I taught them. Finally, I require a practical application of the skills they have learned. Your child will find learning from me to be fun, enjoyable, and fulfilling. I encourage questions, and provide answers. As a published author, I can lead them to learn how to communicate effectively and efficiently while having fun.

I have completed all courses for my Associates Degree and was a trainer at my previous position. When in high school, I was a college preparatory student and graduated with a high school Diploma as well as 12 Advanced Placement courses and completed my International Baccalaureate diploma.
I love teaching all grades and levels. The most important aspect of teaching is to know your student. Each individual learns in different ways, some are tactile learners, some are visual, and some are auditory learners. Incorporating all aspects into my teaching style assists the retention of the material. It also has to be relatable to the student, so we have to use relevant examples that they understand. All children can learn any subject if you can spark their interest. There is no better feeling than seeing the light turn on and the sense of accomplishment in a child's eyes.

A Little Bit About Me...

Since graduating with my Chemistry degree in 1997, I have volunteered off and on within the classroom, mentoring and tutoring children of all ages. I have several younger siblings and children of my own, so I have taken the many opportunities to go in and out of the classroom as a classroom parent, after school program teacher, guest speaker, and mentor and judge for the Future City competition (an annual engineering competition for middle school children). My industry is nuclear. I have taken many opportunities to speak with students about considering the nuclear field and sharing my own experiences in the industry.
