I have earned two Associate Applied Sciene degres in General Office Technology and Early Childhood Educaiton,which have helped me to have a desire to help young people excel in life. Currently I assist student with working to achieve their GED or Adult High school Diploma. No one is too old to learn.

I make a point to have fun with my students, and my teaching style relies heavily upon real world examples that my students can both relate to and enjoy. I stand firmly against simply giving my students answers, but rather employ a strategy of leading my students to discovering their own answers. I believe that every child has a different manner of obtaining and learning information and it is the instructor's duty to identify each student's learning style and to teach accordingly. Think of a key ring with all sorts of different keys on the ring. As a teacher you must try one key on the key chain at a time. Sometimes the first key will open the door to a child's success and other times it could be the fifth or seventh key. Teacher's need to be patient and work with their student's to best identify their learning styles and needs.

I love teaching all grades and levels. The most important aspect of teaching is to know your student. Each individual learns in different ways, some are tactile learners, some are visual, and some are auditory learners. Incorporating all aspects into my teaching style assists the retention of the material. It also has to be relatable to the student, so we have to use relevant examples that they understand. All children can learn any subject if you can spark their interest. There is no better feeling than seeing the light turn on and the sense of accomplishment in a child's eyes.

My teaching style is adaptive. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn. The approach to learning is what makes the difference. Being a mother, I love children and am very patient. I also know that kids have their own distinct personalities and I address each child as an individual person, with their own talents and ideas. There is nothing better than when a person's face lights up, young or old, when they "get it."
