I have over 35 years industrial experience. These include Exxon Production Research, Houston (5 years) Scott Papepr Co, Philadelphia (2 years) Xerox Corp, Webster, NY (24 years). I have over 7 years teaching experience: Rochester Institute of Tech (Visiting Professor) Mechanical Engineeringand Math Dept. I can teach math and many engineering courses up to graduate level.
I spend a lot of time (as much as needed) to make a student grasp concepts. Once concepts are well understood, it becomes easy to solve problems. For this reason, the rate of progress depends on the student's interest and dedication to study. I assume that if a student is willing to pay for tutoring, the incentive to learn will not be lacking. Between my studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in the liberal arts field, where I earned a bachelors degree, and my studies in math and computational science I have an exceptionally broad knowledge base. My work experience further illustrates this having worked briefly as an English teacher in Prague as well as the various sales and customer service jobs I have had including Verizon Wireless, Wegmans, and Radio Shack.
I love working with people and teaching them about the things that I am passionate about. I am very patient and throughout and I have learned a lot of valuable techniques such as asking the right questions to confirm that the student has learned the lesson as well as planning out what the important points are that I need to cover. I also try to illustrate points using a variety of learning styles that over time I can customize to individual students.
