A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all children. I prefer a one on one setting and use positive constructive teaching methods. I am a good listener and have a lot of patience. I enjoy watching others learn and am good at picking up nonverbal cues. I have the ability to keep my students interested in their subject matter.
I have many years of experience working with various age groups teaching and training a variety of activities. I spent a year and half of my college career studying Elementary Education before switching to Psychology. During that time I worked with students at our on campus elementary school Greenwood Laboratory. While working for the Park Board I had the opportunity to assist students K-5 with homework, recreation, fundamentals of sports and getting them to use their creative minds.

I am a firm believer in showing respect to students. I feel if you show the students respect and understanding, it will be shown to me. Children have different learning styles and I will do everything I can to help them learn in the way that is easiest for them. I strongly believe in showing students how something is done and walking through sample work with them and gradually providing less assistance until they are able to do it on their own.
