Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Teaching is not my career, however, I have taught young children through 6th grade many years ago using a spoken system followed up by TV. Children learned the meaning of the words in context without having to translate each time. It was a fun interactive experience. This gave them a feel for the intonations and pronounciation of the language and a good sense of what they were communicating from repetition and use. The actual meanings fell into place much easier as well as structure. I have helped with translations on many occassions and offered assistance to friends who wished to travel and have basic speaking knowledge to communicate in their travels.

I feel that in teaching my goal is to effectively reach all children. Individual care and attention are the most effective ways which I feel a child can be persuaded to learn.
