My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I teach reading (communication skills) as a College Professor and I have written articles, such as "An Introduction to Computer Literacy", for reading textbooks. I have helped many students to learn to read faster and with more comprehension. I am patient and understanding.

In my experience, the majority of students are highly motivated. This is, for me, the key to success. Every child can learn, just not in the same way!

I am an Elementary school teacher for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology, from Rutgers University, and hold my teaching certificate for Elementary K-6 and Special Education K-12. Prior to being a teacher, I have worked for an outreach program, working one to one with Autistic and Down Syndrome students. Reading is the Key to Success!

I have worked in the field of education as a teacher for 30 years. I have taught basic skills in foundations of Reading to middle school students. I have also taught all subject areas to elementary school children. The most memorable and most valuable experience in my career was teaching first graders how to read. It takes a trained professional to be able to lay out the framework children need to learn how to read. Reading skills on the first grade level are the most rudimentary and applicable to all grade levels there after.

I have began to help students in the 1960s when I was a grade school student adn when I volunteered at Get Set, where my mother worked as a full time teacher assistant. Later, I worked as a councilor as a summer-time employee of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania school system.
