A Little Bit About Me...

Despite a demanding, accelerated academic schedule, during my three years at a competitive private college I voluntarily tutored underprivileged elementary students. In earning my BA in Sociology/Anthropology I became well versed on understanding people from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. I also have a strong background in the social sciences including social studies, history and language arts. My college major also required that I write numerous papers and helped me to develop a strong writing style, as well as a keen understanding of grammar. After moving overseas in 2004, I began substitute teaching at an elementary/middle school for two years. My philosophy of my teaching style can be described as hands on, creative, child centered, yet with an emphasis on the traditional core subjects: reading, and math.
