I have been an elementary education classroom teacher for 30 years. I have taught in Walker County, Hamilton County, The Bright School, and Cumberland Hall Psychiatric Hospital for children and adolescents. I have taught in a variety of settings and enjoyed each one. I would enjoy continuing to help in the education of any student who would need my assistance. I work 1:1 or in small groups, even in a whole classroom setting. This way I can see how each student is progressing.

Writing comes easily to me. Teaching brings me pleasure. What I do is to show them, help them, then have them do whatever I am teaching them to do. Sometimes one of the steps may have to be repeated, but this process really works well. I have tutored my friend's daughter in math and English. I have assisted her with science and social studies projects. Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style.
