I have tutored for a non-profit organization, Life Christian Church, as an after school program on Wednesdays free to the community. I have also taught English and History to home school students. One of the biggest accomplishments was watching of the students who detested writing papers because he did not believe he could do it, grow into a man who is not writing weekly papers confidently. My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I am a writer of prose and poetry and encourage students to be creative writers.

I believe a strong emphasis on spelling, grammar and comprehension is key to future learning. I approach these subjects from different angles so that it does stay interesting. I believe in bolstering self confidence and yet encourage students to put effort into their lessons.
I have taught grades 3 and six as part of my internship in Messina, New York. I tutored third grade children in remedial reading as a private business. After raising my own children and working in industry I returned to teaching. I taught ESL to adults in Boston, MA and as part of Literacy,Inc in Escondido, CA. I have tutored third grade students in reading as part of Oasis Program. I currently home school a third grade boy in all subjects. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects!

I'm a firm believer in positive reinforcement. I have dealt with my fair share of teachers who use shame as a motivator, but that only stalls students. Teaching students WHY helps them understand HOW, and it works every time. I'm confident in this method's results.
This is my first time tutoring professionally. However, it is not the first time I help others to learn.
