I tutored students in Early childhood studies but I also can tutor students in elementary math. I am currently working on my bachelor's degree in Early childhood studies. I will have my bachelor's degree in May 2011 and I am going on to my teahcer credential degree for special needs children. I have tutor at Allan Hancock College. A Little Bit About Me...

Being a high school English teacher is a career path in which I have always wanted to pursue. I graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in English. Upon completion of my degree I took and passed the CBEST test which enables me to be a substitute teacher. I do have previous experience in tutoring students who perform below their grade level. The primary focus of the tutoring that I have done was primarily in Language arts, grammar and reading comprehension.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I am a firm believer that with patience and hard work, mastering a subject is not impossible. To be a good teacher one must be a good learner. Conversational. From what I learned in Taiwan little kids are not for me. This is the truth. Kids at about 14 or 15 and older are much preferred. I don't think I am animated enough for younger children...well, not a GROUP of younger children anyway. When it comes to one on one though, it is much different I am sure. I like to give ideas on how to sound out words, remember grammar/math tricks and things like that.
I double majored in Biology and English with a Bachelor of Science degree from a very well known, highly esteemed University in Wisconsin. I went to Taiwan for two months from March-May 2010 and helped teach in a "Bushiban" or cram school to kids aged 6-15. I am currently looking for a full-time job relating to my degree.
