I am working on a master's degree in communication.

I am currently a substitute teacher at Mountain Grove Schools. My practicum was completed at Mountain Grove Elementary. Subjects taught include math, science, reading and social studies. My strongest subject is algebra (commutative, homological, or abstract). My degree is in general mathematics so I experienced most forms of mathematics at a high college level. I began tutoring as a freshman in high school. Professionally, I have spent ten years in management in four different industries. I have been told that I explain things well.
1) Give the person you are turtoring an opportunity to tell you where they are having a problem. 2) While working through problems monitor the person you are tutoring to see if there are other problems. 3) Suggest changes. Never force them. There isn't one correct way. Make a suggestion on how to improve and explain why you are making the suggestion. 4) Do multiple versions of a similar problem. My entire background revolves around teaching. I taught in a Preschool while I was working on my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there I worked with all ages from Infants to the School Age children. After completing my degree I then went to teach in a public school. The first year I taught and ran the Preschool Program of about 50 children, ages 3 to 5 years. The next four years I taught third grade where our emphasis was on reading comprehension, analytical thinking skills, and writing. After leaving the public school arena I completed my MBA and then moved on to teaching adults. Lately I have been working at a local hospital instructing Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Clinic Managers on integrating their new Electronic Health Records program.
