My responsibility is to quickly identify the students weaknesses and turn them into their STRENGTH! I am a every interactive teacher. It is my strong belief that anyone can succeed with the proper motivation, reinforcement and tools. My tutoring style emphasizes the student as an active participant in the learning process. With an approach that is clear, reliable, friendly, and personal, I look forward to helping a student succeed in their academic career. Teaching is where I belong. I am passionate as well as creative about teaching young people how to think, learn, develop, and grow. My efforts and skills surpass simply the subject matter and reach to character, learning strategies, becoming successful, and understanding strengths and how to improve weakness. People say that teachers don't make much. On the contrary, I make a big difference in the lives of my students. My approach is realistic. With regards to classroom management, I simply deny the student the opportunity to be disciplined. I look for students doing something right and reward them immediately. I tutored English composition in the writing lab as work-study for St. Petersburg Junior College to assist financial aid for my Associates degree. I also tutored disabled students at the University of South Florida in writing skills. I held a composition writing component to the Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Program at the Training School Boys. I taught ESL for the Cape Verdean Community Development Center in Pawtucket. I also taught GED classes at the Woodlawn Community Center in Pawtucket.
I have recently learned to incorporate meaning-centered philosophy (Viktor Frankl) to my teaching with a Portfolio methodology.
