I believe that every student should have a unique path, with no two students having the same path to musical fulfillment. Each student of mine has their lessons individually tailored to their needs. I will even write exercises for my students to emphasize a certain skill I wish them to possess. I greatly enjoy finding a way to inspire a child to understand the problem at hand. Through from my experience in grade school and my observation of students that attend tough schools I've realized the monotonous class schedule and disciplinary philosophy of most schools deflates most student's desire to succeed. While I can relate to this rebellious reaction I also know that it is no excuse for not trying very hard in school because the main path to success as a young adult is a high school diploma with excellent grades.
