A Little Bit About Me...

My area of expertise is Chemistry, however, I have tutored students in all areas of science and math. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biotechnology. I also have a PhD in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry. As a teaching assistant in graduate school, I taught General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Lab. However, over the past 10 years, I have tutored students in Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, and Anatomy and Physiology.
It has been proven that students have different styles of learning. Thus, I understand that my tutoring approach will not be the same for each client. I usually start off with a detailed explanation of the problem that includes diagrams and models. Atrazine is a pesticide that was tested qualitatively and quantitatively using HPLC. I've completed coursework for a M.S. Chemical Physics from Norfolk State University. After being offered a Teaching Assistantship, I taught multiple chemistry laboratory classes. My graduate research focuses on synthesizing organic monomers for Photovoltaic applications; however, I have assisted with research devoted to immobilizing enzymes onto solid supports at the Center for Materials Research, NSU.
