Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences.
