Unorthodox is the best way to describe my teaching style. Unorthodox in that I will change my approach or activities based on student comprehension. Unorthodox in that I truly believe that for every student who is confused or doesn’t understand a concept, there is a teacher who didn’t do their job. I work with students very well. I make sure that they are able to connect with me, and enjoy the process of learning. It's important to like what you are studying, so that you can get the most out of it. I feel as though it is necessary for them to enjoy the setting they are in, and I do my best to accommodate them. Learning should not be something that students do not look forward to, contrary; they should be excited to learn something new. In 1981 I received a double-bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Texas A&M Commerce. I tutored Math, basic skills through calculus I, and Computer Science for two years while attending the University. I have also tutored all middle-school subjects, especially reading and math, at Trinity River Mission tutoring facility in Dallas from 1991-1996. I feel capable of tutoring most high-school subjects including Algebra-Calculus, History, Politics and Science.
