I am pretty versatile when it comes to teaching. I see what works best for a given individual or group and try to meet students where they are academically. I also attempt to motivate students by incorporating topics they enjoy into lessons.
I am a former high school and middle school English teacher who is currently pursuing a Master's of English at East Carolina University. This past semester I tutored in a writing studio at ECU. For the past few years I have been tutoring students K-12 in various subjects, mostly language arts. I also have substitute-taught at a couple different schools in Pitt County. In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.

My teaching style varies by the student. If the student learns fast and is persitent, I will move at a faster state, but if the student learns at a normal or a slower pace I will move at a rate in which the child will get the most out of the tutoring experience.
I have helped children and teens from all ages in the field of English as well as performing arts. I have a passion for fine arts and literature and enjoy tutoring and helping others. I also have a passion for mathematics and have tutored several classmates in past years. Here on the campus of East Carolina University, I have been involved in several different mentoring programs to help motivate and enrich children. During the Fall and Winter breaks I assist with End-of-Grade testing preparation at church.

I am attending school for early childhood degree. Working with children and others have always been apart of me. Throughout school I am always helping and tutoring someone. Teaching someone something that I already know and something they should know or what to know makes me happy. I substitute before and volunteer my time a lot with daycare, Boys and Girls Club, after school programs, and even at church. I love to grab up my neighbor children to see how they are doing in school and if they need help with some work that they may have not gotten an understanding from their teacher or their parents do not understand.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent the last 10 years as a student and as an instructor. I realized that I needed computer skills and decided to get the skills necessary to survive. While I was a student, I acted as a tutor. This reminded me how much I love teaching. After I graduated from Nash, I began working as an adjunct instructor. In this capacity, I have worked in all levels of education. I enjoy corporate training and immured instruction. I am currently trying to finish my MS in Instructional Technology at East Carolina University. I have tutored every thing from basic English and Math to Networking. I have a minor in English.
