As a certified TESL instructor, I have worked as an ESL teacher for Aston English in Weihai, China for the past 12 months. Before my time teaching abroad, I volunteered in an English learning class at Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri. I have experience with all ages - mostly Kindergarten age through High School - with some experience teaching adults, as well. I look forward to continuing my teaching experience with you!
My ESL teaching style includes an approach called 'whole language learning', which includes reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I also implement interactive learning (i.e. conversation and dialogues, interactive websites, etc.) and learning through play/games. I always adapt my teaching methods to my students' learning styles, whether they be auditory, visual, TPR, tactile, or analytic learners.

I received my Early Childhood Degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL. I started teaching thereafter. I have taught young children for 4 1/2 years. In addition to teaching I tutored children after school for Title I Reading/Math through Springfield School District. I tutored 4 days a week Monday-Thursday for 1 hour.
