I hold a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Sociology and Business from Excelsior College in Albany, NY. AN AAS in Equine Business from Northwest College, Powell, WY and a AA Liberal Arts Business and minor in Office Inforamtion Systems from WWCC. My Work experience has been a Tutor for Chautaqua- Striders, teacher aide for 5 years, and also being a Substitute teacher. I have had a wide variety of teaching experience from being a sign language teacher, early childhood teacher, teacher aide, and special education aide I consider myself to be a very outgoing patient person who has also had youth metoring experience. My teaching style is one that allows the students to ask any pertinent question about the subject at hand. By allowing the students to do this, it allows me to see what might be giving them a hard time with the learning. Thus, I would be able to ask pertinent questions, that will allow me to show different ways around the troublesome areas, while giving the students a new way to learn the necessary material. When working towards my Bachelor's I was able to achieve a dual BS in Accounting and Business Management. After working a few years, I decided to go into teaching. While doing this, I was able to assimilate my real life working experience, into the classroom. I have since obtained a second certification in Special Education. By working closely with other professionals, I have been able to put into practice many of the educational theories and figure out how they work best with my style of teaching and the students with whom I work. I have worked at a school for students with emotional, learning, and behavioral needs and developed positive relationships with each student. I also did a research study to improve behavior, reduce anxiety and stress and enhance academic performance with the use of biofeedback software.
