A Little Bit About Me...

I am a visual learner and I have found that most other people are too. This means that it is important to understand concepts behind each topic were learning. For example, a topic that I had to explain a couple weeks ago was "renal physiology". I believed it was important for the student to understand that water is re-absorbed in all the spots that aldosterone acts, not just memorize where water is re-absorbed. Although, it is important to learn the skills of repetition also. I like to ask questions after we go over topics to make sure that the student is gaining understanding of the topic. Each topic should be reviewed 3 times before an exam.

I have earned a bachelor degrees, BS in agriculture and MS in Agriculture, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. I would have taught high school but I found higher ed to be more interesting. I have a BS in Biology with a minor in Computer Science. I also have a M.Ed. in Education Administration and Supervision with 17 graduate hours of Biology.
