Raised in a disadvantaged social-economic environment, I sought success by joining the military; traveling and learning about the world. Upon my retirement I decided to give back by bringing the diversity of the world into the classroom. I graduated college cum laude and served as the President, International English Honor Society; Sigma Tau Delta. My degree in English Literature provides many levels of the written word by allowing for the understanding of differences that is desired and required by the individual learner. I like to teach using different strategies and methods, because I know all the students in the classroom are not going to learn the same way. I feel it is best to fully understand my content and standards. Then create lessons to teach the students in a way they will learn the material best for them. A Little Bit About Me...

Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. It always made me feel good knowing i was the only one who could help her study!
When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.

Technology such as learning games, computers, and etc. are useful tools in teaching.
