Earlier on in my college education, my plan was to apply to Law School at MU, the university I was attending at that time. To apply, one was to have a Bachelor's degree in the area of their choice. I have always been fascinated by people . . . the way they think, how they learn, why they do what they do, etc., so I chose to major in psychology. Toward the end of my Bachelor's degree, my husband and I started a family, and the more and more I thought about things, the stronger I felt about choosing a career that was more conducive to family life . . . so I changed career paths and chose to become an elementary teacher. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient teacher. If it seems someone is 'just not getting it' I will try a different approach. People learn at different levels, and what works for one does not always work for another; therefore,finding the way for each individual student is the key. I have also found that most people learn a task by 'hands on' learning, not listening to how it should be done. In this situation, giving someone the tools to do the work themselves gives them the confidence to do it, and feel good about conquering the challenge.
As a working professional, I was driven later in life to get a degree that was started right after high school.
