While working part time as a law enforcement instructor, I fell in love with teaching. I believe in engaging students in conversation and effectively communicating to them the need to learn and the pride that results in the achievement of learning. I am a retired law enforcement professional. I returned to college and earned a B.S. in Education in2004. Currently I am enrolled in a graduate program in leadership at Duquesne University and have completed 18 hours of that program. I will graduate with a M.S. in Leadership in December, 2010. I grew up with both partents in the public education system, I was a student-teacher in H.S. and I earned a bachelor degree in Parks, Recreation, Natural Resource Management with a minor in Art Education.
