A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching with individuals of all ages. I believe that every person should learn something new everyday and to succeed in doing this all that is needed is a common link. My patience and determination show to my students that I am there to help them. Coupling this with a view at the big picture helps a teacher better understand which ways a student learns. Since all students do not learn in the same manner it is pertinent to establish a game plan in the first meeting and help them work through any difficulties that they may learning the subject manner. I taught three years in a Public School system and thirteen years at Hamilton Business College at Mason City, Iowa. I taught all phases of accounting while at Hamilton. After I retired from teaching, I became the accountant for three different firms in Mason City ( an oral surgeon, ready mix company and a road contractor) for eight years. My Husband and I moved to a retirement community in Waukee about four years ago after spending 46 years in the Mason City-Clear Lake area.
I returned to the University of Northern Iowa to start working toward a Master Degree in Accounting so I might be able to teach again. I enjoyed teaching at the college level since you had few people that were not interested in learning.
