My comments on tutoring World History : In addition to American history, I also excelled in World history, as well, and continue studying it to this day.

I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.

With my numerous experiences in education, I think I could be a great asset in helping students become more knowledgeable. I have worked as a Tutor, Assistant Teacher, and did a short placement as an Interim Teacher. I can easily adjust to changing environments that will best suit the student’s potential. I am blessed to have attended a college that prepared me for real world situations and classroom circumstances. I have achieved two bachelor's degrees, a BS in bible and a BS in elementary education. I have also achieved a master's in holistic education. These degree programs provided me with a grasp of all subject areas in the elementary portion of schooling. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community.

Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear. For the last two years I have taught college level biology labs. These have been introductory biology classes with course material beginning with cell biology and ending with ecology. In 2010 I received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award form the biology department. My experiences are in both biology and environmental science.
