A natural teacher, I started helping my fellow students in High School. This lead to tutoring algebra to middle school students. Then I applied to be a note-taker and tutor at community a local college, then I was a teaching assistant at Binghamton University for Biology. After graduation I persued a career in Microbology, where I work teaching medical students and future doctors about microbiology. I was also asked to teach as an adjunt professor at BU. I accepted and taught a course in Medical Microbiology for the Nursing program. A lecture 3 times a week to 90 students, with office hours and I had 2 teaching assistants under me.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them. I am excellent at explaining complex terms so any layperson can understand them. I have only worked with teenage/young 20s people, so have less experience with a younger crowd. I have learned teaching college students that if one teaching approach doesn't work, try another! I am willing and able to explain the same concept as many ways as needed for someone to understand. I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I double majored at Nazareth College in Business Administration and Mathematics. While in school I tutored at a Rochester city elementary school focusing on literacy.
