Completing a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics in less than four years took dedication and excellent study skills. So far, I have only tutored people in Calculus, and Physics, but I am comfortable with Differential Equations, Discrete Math, freshman Chemistry and Biology, and pretty much anything Computer Science related at the undergraduate level.
I am excellent at breaking things down and making them easy to remember. Relating the subject material to something the learner can understand is key. I am very patient and will take the time to learn how to help each student in the most productive way I can.

I feel that it is important to explain basic underlying theory behind science and math, as well as presenting these topics in a step by step, logical manner. I feel it is important to teach methods for how to obtain a solution and not rely on rot memorization of facts and equations.
As a graduate student I taught an undergraduate engineering lab course for a semester, and spend 2-3 additional semesters grading tests and assignments for various undergraduate level courses in mechanical engineering. In addition, I also worked as a tutor during my senior year in high school, as well as at various times while an undergraduate student in college. Over the past year, I served as an Americorps volunteer in an inner city charter school with an emphasis on character education. I worked one on one with students helping them with math, reading, and science skills. I assisted in classroom teaching of mini lessons too. I also helped with their after-school program, I also created supplemental study guides and multimedia software to help students to improve their study skills.
