My comments on tutoring Drama : I have been in many plays and musicals! Performing is my passion and I have a lot of fun knowledge and tricks about the stage.

I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!
I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable.

I have earned my Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Elementary Education. During my undergraduate studies, I was a substitute teacher for Delaware Community Schools in Muncie, IN. I have also tutored at Huntington Learning Center. I am currently working towards earning my Master's in Early Childhood Education.
I truly love the field of education. I recognize that all students learn in different ways. I know certain teaching methods work for some students and not others. It is important to teach in several different styles.

Being a current student myself, I can appreciate the hardships and struggles of education. I feel that you must always level with your students, no matter what the age. The students are the ones who must lead the class. However, we as educators have a duty to guide and to nourish this idea. We must be leaders who encourage a positive and productive learning environment, while also maintaining an enjoyable experience. I believe in a split between communicative and explicit teaching. Students are given input through examples and other meaningful activities. They then are encouraged to attempt their own output through group work, homework, or discussion. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate, I feel that I have received the formal training necessary to become a teacher. I have obtained a BS in Early Childhood Education. Over the past two years I have also spent time tutoring elementary school children in the subject of reading, and also spent about 3 months working one on one with various students in a nearby school district.
I believe that all children should receive the extra help that they need. Often time in the classroom, a teacher does not have the time to give the support of the needs of each student in the classroom. Teachers and tutors should try their best to make sure they focus on individual needs of the students so that they can help them succeed.

I believe the best way to teach students is by utilizing a variety of learning styles. For example, for a visual learner, diagrams and pictures should be used but in order to compliment that repeating audible explanations would be great for someone who is an auditory learner. For any learner, the amount of repeated material provides for good review for students to make connections and the material to be cemented into the human mind.
Having the chance to attend one of the largest universities in the world has truly allowed me to experience opportunties to influence young minds. The difference in my experiences and those of others is that the experiences I come across require much more dedication and devotion simply because it is not related to my field of study.
