A Little Bit About Me...

How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. That led to my doing teaching seminars, which led to consulting, which led to training, which led to my working with individuals as a life coach. I have been a CEO, Vice President, Consultant, Senior Broker, Artist, Photographer, Glass Blower, Jewelry Designer and writer, the job titles have changed over the years; the only consistent has been that teaching has always been a part of my working life.

Upon graduation I began teaching in NY State. I taught one year at the junior high level with classes in american History and English. I moved to a larger school district and taught History and Economic at the Senior High school levels. I received tenure and taught 4 years leaving the education field to enter business.
After 5 years of teaching, my business career was always related to my education background. I have been a sales manager and trainer. I worked with ITT as an insurance training manager for 2 years.My sales career has been of a consultive, informational style. I enjoy helping people to achieve their potential and nothing makes me more happy than to see someone learn something and get a good grade or to do the task on their own without any help. My style is that I try to let the student figure out the solutions to whatever problem they are working on on their own but I will be there to help them if they run into to problems. I will show at first what they need to do and know before I leave to solve the problem on their own. If the student really runs into a problem I will go over the subject thoroughly and go through the process with them step-by-step.
