I believe that every student can learn more than they think

I am a laid back type of instructor and use my experience and intuition to create unique learning environments for each student. I like students to express themselves in their studies, and I encourage each student to express their natural gifts. I have experience as a volunteer tutor in social studies and math, a paid tutor in reading, a student teacher, and as a substitute for the last year and a half. I have taught ESL classes and done individual tutoring, as well as both group and one-on-one instruction in grammar and composition. I wanted very much to teach at the Liberal Arts College level but was unable to secure a full-time, permanent position. In pursuit of this goal, I have completed an MS in Physics, all the coursework necessary for a MS in Mathematics, an MA in Philosophy, and I am working to complete my PhD in philosophy. Over the last 10 years I have taught at every level from high school to university, and have frequently tutored students at all of these levels.
I have never taught a subject, physics, mathematics or philosophy, at a level that was beyond the abilities of any student who really wanted to master the material, and I don't think I'd be interested at teaching at that level.
