I graduated from Wake Forest in 2008, double-majoring in Mathematics and Physics. I also took some courses in the Education Department, and substitute taught for public high schools and middle schools in Winston-Salem, NC and Metairie, LA. I have worked in tutoring programs for elementary school children approximately twice a week for a total of twelve months. I have recently learned HTML, PHP, and Javascript programming languages, and am the designer and programmer for the Facebook application Harry Potter House Sort.
I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. I am extremely friendly and love helping students learn my passion, accounting. I have experience in helping students with disabilities, and currently tutor a student with a disability. I really love the interaction I have with students, and my track record shows I know what I am doing - I have never had a student who did not increase their GPA after coming to me multiple times. I really prefer the student have looked over the material before coming to me, so we can target problem areas and avoid areas in which the student has gained a thorough understanding.
