My philosophy on teaching is not centered just on the concept at hand, but rather on the goal of helping the student develop the skills to expand on that concept and apply them to other problems. When I tutored other college students at the UW, I helped my students explore topics from every possible angle we could think of so that the student can fully develop a solid grasp of that topic, and lay down the foundations needed to be able to apply that learning and understanding to other situations and problems. Thus, even with a limited set of practice problems, I believe that with the right approach, a student can learn to work their way through an unlimited set of problems, given the proper tools and a solid foundation on a subject.

I come from an academic family whose achievements have been in the Humanities, notably in Classics, Language, Literature, Music, and Western History. These topics have been my constant interest and source of inspiration, and I feel a calling and a duty to impart the study of the Humanities to young people today. I have a double-degree in Latin and English, a Master's Degree in English, and a Master's Degree in Librarianship.
