My comments on tutoring German : I have two years' experience with German. I took German while at University and I can easily guide someone through the basics of German Conversation and Grammar.

During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. I have studied 12 different languages and I have obtained varying degrees of proficiency in each of them: Latin, Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, German, Danish, Swedish, Greek, Scottish Gaelic, and Welsh. I am most proficient in Russian and Latin, with conversational proficiency in Danish, French, and Spanish. In all others, I have basic/intermediate proficiency skills. I also focused on history and historical circumspection. I minored in History while at University, taking many various history courses. I have a solid foundation in Russian History, American History, and European History, particularly in English, Scottish, and French History.

I am a laid-back, but persistent teacher who has an arsenal of techniques (which I learned from some of the best German teachers). In addition to using styles that worked for me when I was learning German, I have my own style and have always worked well with middle- and high-schoolers. Being fresh out of college, I could obviously work with college kids, too.
I am a knowledgeable and helpful young tutor ready to help anyone trying to learn German. I have over seven years of experience in the German language, including a stint of living in Germany for 4 months. I also completed a German Studies minor from NC State. A Little Bit About Me...

Due to the fact that I was born and raised in Germany and have since lived in various foreign countries, I have adopted sensitivity when it comes to culture and characters. As a teacher I learned to be very observant before implementing a specific teaching strategy. Not only does every child have a different character, but they are all brought up in different surroundings and family constellations. Through my involvement in the Big Brother's Big Sister's program I learned that private family matters are directly related to acedemic success. As in my case tutoring involved building the child's confidence and self-esteem which ultimately had a positive effect on academics.
