I graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Math classes included Calculus I, II, and III, Differential Equations and Matrices, and Engineering Math. My MS in Engineering Management included several classes in Statistics and Probabilities. I tutored middle school students 12 hours per week for two years at Ramstein Middle School, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. I believe that each student is different, and that the best teaching method differs with each student. Some students respond better to being challenged while others will require smaller steps. The goals of the students also vary, some needing only to pass while others need a solid foundation in anticipation of further study. I believe I can tailor instruction to the students' needs.

I bring a lot of energy to the classroom and ensure that I am over-prepared for each lesson. I enjoy involving every student in a classroom setting and encourage an active, open learning environment. I have been an "instructor"-teacher for over 15 years. I teach math, economics, finance, business, and management for several colleges. I have been a Boy Scoutmaster and merit bade counselor and have worked with youth for over 15 years. I have always been given very high marks as an instructor with many comments on my positive energy and help for students. I have an applied mathematics minor so I would be able to teach algebra, geometry, trig, and introductory calculus. I am a question-answer type of teacher. As a student at Western State College in Gunnison, CO I have been tutoring students and fellow athletes in Math for the past year. I have enjoyed the work I have done so far in this area and was looking to further my experience in this field throughout the Gunnison area. I expect to graduate with my BA in 2011. Because all student learn at different levels I believe in order to be a good Math tutor you must show patients with the students you are working with.
