I tend to use the socratic method a lot to help my students arrive at their own conclusions and understanding of material, paired with some basic, interactive instruction when students do not already understand some of the material involved. I teach straight forward using the math laws which makes math logical and easy to understand. Algebra is the key to understanding all other levels of calculus and physics which is applied mathematics as well as chemistry.
While I was attending Weber State University, my part-time employment was to be a mathematics tutor for recent high school grads who did not pick up math from the elementry levels.
