A Little Bit About Me...

I generally give an assessment to find out about individual student needs. When working with younger students, I usually plan a series of activities, and learning games to help reinforce learning. I feel that it is important to develop goals, and would work with classroom teachers, if possible, to find out more about each student. I am able to tutor math, reading, writing, and other subjects. I enjoy helping students, taking time to develop a good working relationship, in which students feel comfortable. yet challenged.

Though I have a degree in classroom education, one-on-one teaching is my heartbeat. I believe it is the highest good for a student's learning. It prevents your student from getting "lost in the crowd" and allows us to focus on his or her needs. My first goal is to determine how the student learns. I've always had a passion to teach. Life took me down a few different paths but I've managed to find my way back to teaching. I'm looking to pursue a Masters in order to obtain a position in the fields of teaching CAD. I enjoy teaching others because I think I have a unique connection with the way some people think. I have dyslexia, but I managed to get a 3.9 in High School, a 2.98 at Michigan Tech and currently hold a 3.85 at KVCC. I am a right brained person that can see things in different ways or am able to relate them to something else in life to get the understanding to grasp the concept that is trying to be taught/learned.
