My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I tutored 9th and 10th grade high school students in Algebra II for 5-10 hours per week for 6 months. I excel at math and love helping students gain a better understanding of the subject.

I have been tutoring students for about 5 years. I started when I was a junior in high school. My first experiences tutoring were through the National Honor Society. I volunteered after school once or twice per week and I tutored mainly ESL students in Math and English. My senior year of high school and throughout the time I was in college, I tutored a high school student who had educational and developmental deficits. He needed help in all of his core classes from 8th grade through 12th grade. I tutored him in Pre-Algebra through Algebra II, History, Science, and English. I also tutored at Columbia Heights High School for 6 months, conducting tutorials for groups of 6-7 students. Need a good Math tutor? Look no further!

I have been a tutor since high school. In HS I tutored for ESL (English as a Second Language). More recently I have been a Math tutor at Augsburg College. I am proficient in the subjects ranging from pre-algebra to calculus 3. I am pretty good with statistics and logic (Discrete Math) as well. I also have experience teaching younger children as well. It is my hope that by helping other people with Math they will learn to like it as much as I do.

As a high school student, I began teaching Sunday School and continued throughout my college years. While stationed in the USAF in Alaska, I decided to pursue teaching as a career. Upon completing college with a BS degree in Mathematics with an education emphasis, I began teaching high school math and science. I have taught in five different schools for a total of 31 years. During that time I also coached many extra-curricular school sports teams. Now I am teaching ACT and SAT prep classes in various schools of the Minnesota area. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked in the Finance Industry (UBS Financial, and Wachovia securities). Also I have taught as an adjunct faculty in University of Saint Thomas, Metro State University, and various community colleges. I taught various economics, and finance classes. Also I taught developmental math to community college students. I have also taught my two children. My older son is graduating with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from University of Minnesota. My younger child is an eighth grader. He is doing pre-calculus in eighth grade. Pre-calculus is studied in eleventh or twelfth grade. I work with my younger son very closely. That gave me experience to teach and motivate a young child.
