I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current. I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college! I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I attended Heritage University for 3.5 years in pursuit of my Nursing degree. I have taken College math, written many college papers, and studied alot of science along the way. I also cordinated a mentor program through YVCC for almost two years. I have recently changed paths and with obtain my BA in criminal justice in less than a year. I enjoy working with children! I am patient and kind. I also have high standards and believe that everyone can reach their own potential. I celebrate the little sucesses! Part of my previous job entailed "independent work" from the students for about 2 1/2 hours each day. During this time I would work one on one with each student.
