I have been involved with the field of performing arts for over 15 years. Itrained with the former head of Vocal Performance at Florida State prior to competing in the Miss Florida Pageant. For example, some people may learn through discussion, while others may need to see pictures or presentations of the subject matter. I like to identify how the person learns first through questions, or by testing them with a simple task first to identify the method which seems to work best for them. I started teaching professionally in Tampa, Florida in 1992. I continued to teach in the Florida Public Schools until 1999 before I returned to school to earn my Master's. Now, I teach English to Adults at Wallace Community College, which I have been doing since 2003. I love what I do. When I got my Master's in 2005, I was able to conduct classroom research which enabled me to reach a deeper level in the principles of both linguistics and the science of learning.
