My comments on tutoring Science : created study guides headed up study sessions for Geology, Astronomy, Biology etc.

Most of my adult life has been dedicated to helping people strive for and achieve personal and academic success. I have worked in the academic field for approximately 8 years; tutoring at a community college level for 4 years and scoring MEAP tests for 4 years. In addition, I have provided on the job training for individuals needing extra help. At the community college level I headed up study groups for Science classes, creating study guides and practice quizzes. I also individually tutored students in English and English as a Second Language. On the job site I implemented ways for the employee to perform his or her job duties using charts, visual cues and task lists. I am a college graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education, a major in science and minor in English. I have obtained 22 credits of my masters degree in Teacher Leadership for School Improvement and am 1 course away from my Reading Endorsement. I am also ESOL certified. I am a certified teacher and experienced tutor. I have experience teaching 4th and 5th grades, all subject areas, reading intervention for 2nd and 3rd grade, and reading and math tutoring experience all the way from pre-k through 9th grade.
