My comments on tutoring Arabic : Arabic is my mother tongue. I taught Arabic as a foreign language for a semester at UVU. I have also taught private Arabic lessons for students.

I am an Arabic native speaker from Jordan. I have a BA in German and English literature. I taught a semester of Arabic language and culture class at Utah Valley University. I participated for three years in a study abroad to the Middle East (2010,2012,2014) we took American students from UVU to Jordan, and the West Bank to study about the Arab Israeli conflict and the Arabic culture. My job was to help set the schedule, give preparation classes about politics, language, and culture, and to translate and guide students abroad. I have also worked as an intern for Peace and Justice studies for two years (2010, 2011).

I adore the Arabic language, and would love to share it!

Over 3 years using Modern Standard Arabic, completing the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center Modern Standard Arabic Basic Course, completing the Defense Language Proficiency Test with a 2 / 2+ / 2 in listening, reading, and speaking respectively. I love using the language and I would definitely enjoy sharing my experience with over 1800 class hours of Arabic study with a team of motivated native speakers from all across the Middle East and northern Africa.
I look at learning the language globally, and I teach by helping students pull back their view and be able to look at the structure of the language as a whole rather than only rule by rule, using those rules to help build the structure in the long term. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe above all that patience is key in teaching people of all ages. If the teacher's listening and communication skills are focused on the individual(s) being taught, the learner will let the teacher know when they are grasping and/or absorbing new material as well as when they(the student) reach their capacity. I believe that in learning it's important to pace one's self, allow the mind time to digest new material, and in finding areas of learning that spark passion. Although I think periodic breaks are important, I also believe in advancing somewhat quickly(according to the students' abilities) and in using real-time examples and experience to facilitate and solidify learning.
